  • If something happens before or during your trip and you want to use your travel insurance, you can lodge a claim with us.
  • We recommend bringing a print-out of your policy documents with you when travelling so if you are affected by a storm and lose power or can’t connect to the Internet, you’ll still know what number to call and what instructions to follow.
  • For non-emergency situations before or during your trip: document the situation as much as possible and keep receipts for any expenses incurred. If you have any questions about your situation, or you need guidance, please connect with us for a chat.
  • For emergency situations, or if you need assistance during your trip: we can help you and answer questions about next steps and required documentation.
  • You can start your claim here. The claim process will involve the following interactions:
    1. Telling us about the incident that caused your claim
    2. Specifying the financial loss you want reimbursed
    3. Providing evidence of the incident and the relevant losses to support your claim
  • Once submitted, a claims analyst promptly assesses your claim, determines whether it meets the terms of your policy (including contacting you to request additional information or to clarify any details), and communicates the outcome to you.
  • You are eligible to buy if:
    1. You are 18 years of age or older, but not more than 99 years of age
    2. The date of your departure is no more than 12 months from the date of purchase
    3. You have not commenced your trip
  • If for any reason you cannot satisfy all these criteria, please contact us and we will do our utmost to find a product to suit your needs.
  • You can change your travel dates any time before the start of your trip and policy cancellation is free within the cooling-off period. We can offer you a full refund provided you cancel within 21 days of receiving your policy documents and before the departure date of your policy.
  • If you haven’t already embarked on your trip and  you need to cancel after the 21-day cooling-off period, your premium will be refunded pro-rata from the date your instructions are received, provided you have not made or do not intend to make a claim.
  • In all cases, whether or not you cancel within the cooling-off period, we will only consider a refund if:
    1. You haven’t started your trip
    2. You haven’t made a claim
    3. You don’t intend to make a claim or exercise any other right under your policy
  • When a policy cancellation has been accepted, we will process your refund within 15 business days.

Individual purchase is not needed. The main applicant can purchase on behalf of the group and can list up to 10 travellers on any one policy.

  • Depending on your selected policy benefits, you can submit a claim for costs incurred due to things like needing to cancel your trip (for a covered reason), trip delay or interruption, lost baggage or personal liability.
  • While travel insurance can provide coverage for a wide range of unexpected events, it’s important to know what’s not included. Be sure to read the specific details of your policy in the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS). Generally speaking, travel insurance won’t cover anything that doesn’t fall under “unforeseen circumstances”.
  • There is no cover for losses incurred from any pre-existing medical condition impacting you, a member of the travelling party or a non-travelling close relative, your business partner or co-worker. This doesn’t apply to automatically covered conditions. You don’t need to disclose your pre-existing conditions to us when you buy a policy, but we may ask for relevant details of your medical history in the event of a claim.
  • Our definition of pre-existing medical condition is, in the 12 months before buying the policy:
    1. a medical or dental condition of which you’re aware, or the related complication you have, or the symptoms of which you’re aware
    2. a medical or dental condition currently being, or has been, investigated or treated by a medical practitioner (including dentist or chiropractor)
    3. any condition for which you take prescribed medicine. Doesn’t apply to common colds, flu or contraceptive medication
    4. any condition for which you’ve had surgery
    5. any condition for which you see a medical specialist
  • This definition applies to you, your travelling party, a close relative or any other person named on the Certificate of Insurance.

Yes, however, as only the Australian leg of the journey will be insured, we suggest you consider additional insurance that may cover your travel to/from Australia.  Please note: this MyWay insurance product does not provide any cover for emergency medical expenses.

  • Trip Cancellation protects you if you need to cancel your trip unexpectedly for specific reasons such as an unexpected death, illness, or medical condition. You can also be covered for cancellation or restriction by the carrier of pre-paid scheduled public transport services, caused by severe weather, natural disaster, riot, strike or civil commotion, and certain employment-related scenarios.
  • Trip Interruption protects you against prepaid costs when having to unexpectedly abandon or cut short your trip for a covered reason.
